In this session, both practical and playful, we’ll sharpen our observational skills to engage with the poetry in everything—objects, locations, situations, conversations. We’ll practice meeting what Hopkins calls “thisness.” As Mary Oliver writes, “the world offers itself to your attention, over and over.” Let’s meet it, pen in hand.\nFRIDAY NIGHT On the Edge:\nWhen: Fri, Sept 10, 7 pm-11 pm\nWhere: Trickster Ridge in Palisade\n(address provided on registration)\n7 pm:\nInvocation: Daiva Chesonis\nGongs Along the Palisades: Painting with Sound\nwith Mary Hertert and Jere Friedman\n8:30 ish\nReadings featuring: Erica Waters, Rosemerry Wahtola Tromer,\nand Jesse Tsinajinnie Maloney\n9:30 ish\nLate Night Friday on the Edge:\nReaching for The Continent: a dance-party with Uche Ogbuji\nUche will be spinning music from his native Africa, ranging from the 60s to the present year. Come dance with the tumba, djembe and talking drum, while you groove with the griot, jive with the djali, find the urge in the oja, or just nod your noggin.\n \nFor info and to register, click \n \n \n
