SUMMARY:Words for Respite and Healing: A poetic invitation to reflect, to invite your own voice
DESCRIPTION:Rosemerry joins the pediatric caregivers at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children for an hour of restoration and creativity during their grand rounds.\nUsing poems as models, we will explore what is asked of us as humans who care for other humans. We will reflect on how the poems speak to our own experiences and feelings. Prompts will be given for participants to create their own poems and give voice to the burdens and joys of the past years and this moment.\n \nBio\nRosemerry Wahtola Trommer’s poems have been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, American Life in Poetry, PBS Newshour and Oprah Magazine. She has thirteen books of poetry, and the most recent book, Hush, won the Halcyon Prize. She co-hosts Emerging Form (a podcast on creative process) and teaches poetry for addiction recovery programs, hospice, mindfulness retreats, women’s retreats, scientists and second graders.
