SUMMARY:Sitting in the Midst of It All
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-day poetry mini-retreat as we pause to sit in the midst of our lives, connect with others here, and find a way into “OK-ness” with all that life offers us currently.\nToday the miracle is to sit\nin the sunlit room and be\nin the sunlit room,\nto be here and only here,\nhere in the bountiful silence,\nhere in the shifting shadows,\nhere in the hands of midwinter…\n\nExcerpt from Apricity, by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer\nDecember can be blur, a time of rushing headlong toward the holidays and into the new year.  Here amid the fullness of this season, it is also a wonderful time to sit with our lives. We invite you to join us for this mini-retreat to push the pause button, slow down, and explore what is here.\nWhat is alive, difficult, interesting, joyful, puzzling, confusing, exciting…? Real?\nIn this two-day retreat, we will nurture a trustworthy space to welcome an exploration of whatever is most potent and poignant for you – whatever may be arising, emerging and significant.  Through the Courage & Renewal approach and through poetry writing and exploration, this offering invites you to connect with yourself and others – to slow down, reflect and notice, while experiencing poetry through the gateways of listening, reading, creative writing, imagination, and shared exploration. With the discoveries we make, we can then consider what wants to be celebrated, released, healed and/or probed further.\nSitting in the Midst of It All will be grounded in the Courage & Renewal ( https://couragerenewal.org/approach/ )® approach which you can learn more about in Parker J. Palmer ( https://couragerenewal.org/parker )’s book, A Hidden Wholeness. All are welcome.\nMarcia Eames-Sheavly and poet-teacher-storyteller Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer ( https://www.wordwoman.com/about/ ) will cofacilitate this unique mini-retreat experience.  You’ll find her poetry online at A Hundred Falling Veils ( https://ahundredfallingveils.com/ ).\nDATE: December 7, 9:00 – 3:00 MT, December 8, 9:00 – 12:00 MT\nCOST: 175.00, Please email eamessheavly@gmail.com to register.\nVENUE: Online\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: Dec 3, 2023\n
