Thresholds and Doorways: Writing into Life’s Inevitable Transitions (Day 1 of 2)

Be part of this one-and-a-half-day contemplative poetry writing retreat as we explore the transitions of our lives through reflection and writing, and how we might find our way through them with courage and grace. Poet-teacher-storyteller Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer joins Marcia Eames-Sheavly, Courage & Renewal facilitator, to cofacilitate this unique mini-retreat experience.

Every one of us moves through the doorways of transition in our lives.  Many of us carry from these times a difficulty that may remain unexpressed. And yet, walking across the threshold with courage, humor and grace is possible. Dealing with life’s inevitable transitions can be tough, even as change is, as they say, the one thing that is constant. With so much going on, how do we stay open, instead of clenching in resistance? How do we keep our center in the midst of the swirl?

We’ll explore the transitions which arrive at our door and how when probed with keen attention, they can serve our longings and callings, giving us the courage to act with integrity and authenticity. Based on the principles and practices of the Courage & Renewal® approach, this retreat offers a chance to tune in to our inner rhythms, learning to listen to our inner teacher, instead of the myriad voices of often well-meaning others.
