The Poetry of Truth: Writing What Truly Matters
Join me and my friend Albert Flynn DeSilver for a dynamic writing workshop where you will be guided toward writing into the direct truth of your experience—writing forth what truly matters. Through the practice of reading and writing poetry we will ask the deeper question: “What does it mean to be alive?” Sometimes we lose track of what’s important. Sometimes we find our way back to what’s important. Great poems, with their insistence on returning to “what is true” in the moment, help us dig through the detritus to get to the heart of our lives, and what we truly need to say! The workshop will include:
- Brief periods of meditation & guided writing exercises
- An opportunity to learn new ways of applying dynamic elements of poetry to any genre
- Time to write and explore your imagination in a safe space
- Time for debrief, sharing, and discussion
- Q&A period
Most importantly we’re going to have fun celebrating the magic and power of our imaginations through poetry!
