A Celebration of Western Slope Poet Laureates
Since the year 2011, The Telluride Institute for the Arts has sponsored the Western Slope Poet Laureate Program. Since then, six accomplished poets have held the post:
- Art Goodtimes (Norwood)
- Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer (Placerville)
- Aaron Abeyta (Antonito)
- David J Rothman (Crested Butte)
- Dr. Luis Lopez (Grand Junction)
- Wendy Videlock (Palisade)- current poet laureate
Come enjoy the poetry of these six award-winning authors as they perform poems about the region and talk about what makes the landscape here on the Western Slope so special, how language and landscape are joined at the hip and why so many people are turning to the arts—and poetry to enrich their lives.
