Awakened Eye: A Poetry Playshop on Resilience (a five-class series)
Thursdays, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11, 2021
Awakened eye seeing freshly. What does that do to the old blood moving through its channels. -Naomi Shihab Nye, from “Fresh”
Bring your curiosity, your stuckness, your skepticism, and your wonder to this virtual playground, where poems will serve as invitations to change the way you meet the day and meet your life. As your life changes, what stories are you telling yourself about the change and your ability to meet it? In this five-week poetry playshop, poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer will share poems about resilience, reinvention, and leaning into the unknown to help you re-see the world, to reframe your thoughts, to open to life as it is. In every class, she’ll offer writing prompts to help you reframe the self, to unlearn, and to fathom your connection with others, the world, and the divine. No previous writing experience necessary. If you can write a list, you can write a poem. This program is limited to 12 participants. Registration closes on 2/9/21 at 1 PM.
