The World is Your Spatula: Writing poems to re-see your life
We have little choice about what happens in a day. We have much more choice in how we meet what happens in a day. Writing poems can help us see those choices. When we show up with a pen in our hands, we change our relationship to the world. We become narrators of our own lives—able to frame the story of the moment and who we are in it in fresh ways.
In this two-hour playshop, we’ll read poems from Poetry of Presence II: More Mindfulness Poems and leap out of them into our own writing using Rosemerry’s companion book, Exploring Poetry of Presence II: Prompts to Deepen Your Writing Practice. For people who think they hate poems, people who desperately love writing poems, and all folks in between.
