This Moment in Poetry: The Stretch to Connect

Join poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer for a poetry discussion and performance of poems that meet the moment.

Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer is joining us at SHYFT at Mile High for a 2-part, in-person poetry discussion that concludes with an intimate performance.

Designed with social-distancing in mind, this event has two parts.

Discussion

3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Something marvelous happens when we read poems together—we feel more deeply connected to the world, to each other, and even to ourselves. Poems remind us of our shared humanity, how much we need each other. Poems will be chosen for relevance to our times. Come experience how good it feels to gather and talk about what it means to be alive. No prior poetry experience necessary, everyone welcome!

5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Bring your own beverage and enjoy an array of vegetarian soul food appetizers made with love by Soul Nia.

Poetry Performance

6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Join Rosemerry for an evening of humor and wonder as she shares poems that meet the moment—poems that help us lean into life as it is, poems driven by curiosity and a willingness to dance in the unknown, poems that celebrate the broken, the lowly, the humble, the parched, the lost. Bring your hope, your fear, your inner child, your cantankerous self-critic, your willingness to spend an evening steeped in words and music.

Tickets

Two ticket options are available! VIP tickets include access to the afternoon discussion and performance. Performance-only tickets start at 5 p.m. with heavy appetizers and socially-distant socializing and the hour long performance with Rosemerry.
