When Ted Kooser was the US Poet Laureate, about ten years ago, he created a newspaper column, American Life in Poetry, and this week, one of my poems–about a Fourth of July Parade–was featured today! It’s extra special because this year there will be no parade here in Telluride. But oh, do I remember this contagion of joy!
And then, in a sweet PS, the woman who I wrote about, Lindsay McKeever, was sent the poem and she contacted me and sent me this photo of her in that parade!
