Loving the Self: A Poetry Playshop IN PERSON
Love yourself. Then forget it. Then, love the world.
—Mary Oliver, “To Begin with, the Sweet Grass”
The world has need of you. Loving the self is an essential practice that allows us to engage with the rest of the world with more clarity, more generosity, more trust. But let’s face it—it’s not easy. That’s why it’s a practice.
Join poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer for an afternoon of reading and writing poems about meeting the self with compassion and frankness. How might writing help us open our arms to ourselves the way we might for a child or lover or the planet? We’ll use metaphor and story to help us along—a chance to play. All levels of writing experience welcome. Please bring a journal and something to write with.
This workshop is a pay-what-you-can model, with options of:
- $65 – Financial Assistance Needed
- $80 – Standard Rate
- $105 – Standard Rate + Pay-It-Foward (helps support someone else in financial need)
