A Blossoming of the Heart: A writing workshop to connect with the inner world
In this autumnal time—as the seasons shift toward wintering and the world all around us hurtles through rapid change—let’s turn our gaze inward to the regions of the heart. Let’s attune ourselves to the present and the aliveness of our being. How might wonder and community help us connect with the creative, emotional, spiritual, and relational resources we most need right now? You don’t need to be a poet to explore the ever-unfolding poem of your life and find meaning, nourishment, connection and pleasure there. In this gently paced, playful day-long retreat, we will co-create a courageous environment where we can
- read and converse about poems that model how we might expand our ideas of who we are and what is possible,
- write our own poems using open-ended writing invitations and guidance for ways to play with what is here, (or don’t write and simply show up),
- find interpersonal connection with others in small conversation groups,
- explore our relationship to ourselves, spirit, each other and the world,
- experience how a creative practice helps us to alchemize and transform our experience of, well, everything.
It’s a chance to engage with the mischievous, self-compassionate, generous, open-hearted, curious, aching, lonely, searching, hopeful, despairing, wondrous parts of yourself. All welcome. All levels of experience and inexperience welcome.
